About Belgrave
Just a one hour train ride from Melbourne’s city centre, Belgrave is a major town in the Dandenong Ranges, settled between Emerald and Ferntree Gully.
Set amid temperate rainforest, hills and bush walks, Belgrave is home to a selection of cafes, restaurants, independent unique shops specialising in vintage finds and the historic Cameo Cinema, which are all situated along it’s tight, winding main street. A quick walk through the main street and you will notice much of the internationally acclaimed street art scattered throughout.
Some of the main attractions include the Puffing Billy steam train which runs all the way out to Gembrook, stopping at various suburbs along the way. Belgrave Lake Park and Birdsland Reserve nearby in Belgrave Heights are excellent places to go for a walk or a picnic.. There is a bush walk that leads from Belgrave to Kallista that goes through Grants Picnic Ground, an extremely popular spot where tourists come to observe and interact with the local bird population.
